Four kinds of harmful gases in pig farm

DATA:2017-04-09 source:

Ammonia:
Mainly from the decomposition of feces. Ammonia soluble in water, ammonia in the pig house is often dissolved or adsorbed on the wet ground, walls and pig mucosa. Ammonia can stimulate the mucosa, causing mucosal congestion, laryngeal edema, bronchitis, severe pulmonary edema, pulmonary hemorrhage caused by ammonia can also cause paralysis of the central nervous system, toxic liver disease, etc.. Under the long term effect of low concentration ammonia, the body mass of pigs was weak and sensitive to some diseases, and the feed intake, daily gain and reproductive ability were decreased". If the ammonia concentration is high, it can cause obvious pathological reaction and symptoms to the pig". The test showed that the volume concentration of pig performance in the air ammonia reached 0.005% (50 ml / m3) at the start of 0.01% affected, loss of appetite and prone to various respiratory diseases, 0.03% caused by breathing becomes shallow and spasm. The ammonia content should be controlled within 0.003%.
Carbon dioxide:
The main source is the pig's breathing. 1 pigs weighing 100 kg, can be exhaled carbon dioxide per hour, up to 43 liters, so the proportion of carbon dioxide in the house is often much higher than the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide itself is non-toxic, it is mainly caused by hypoxia, chronic poisoning. Pigs in the long-term anoxic environment in dejected spirit, appetite, physical decline, productivity, reduced resistance to disease, particularly prone to infection of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. The concentration of carbon dioxide in pig house should not exceed 0.15%. Although carbon dioxide itself does not cause poisoning of swine, but the health implications of carbon dioxide concentration is that it can show that the air pollution level of pig, also shows how much there may be other harmful gases in indoor air. Therefore, the concentration of carbon dioxide can be used as an indirect indicator of health assessment.
Carbon monoxide:
A colorless, odorless gas, usually not much carbon monoxide. When the winter in a closed pig house heating, if the fuel is not complete combustion, will produce a lot of carbon monoxide. Carbon monoxide is toxic to the blood and nervous system. It is through the alveoli into the blood circulation, and hemoglobin formation of carbon oxy hemoglobin is relatively stable, it is not easy to hemoglobin dissociation, not only reduced the blood cell function of carrying oxygen and oxygen dissociation also restrain and reduce the oxyhemoglobin release, cause acute hypoxia, dysfunction of vascular and nerve cells appear, respiratory and circulatory and nervous system diseases. The dissociation of carbon - based hemoglobin is 3600 times slower than that of oxygenated hemoglobin, and therefore has a long-lasting toxic effect. When the concentration of carbon monoxide in 0.05%, after a short time can cause acute poisoning. The concentration of carbon monoxide should be less than 0.0025%.
Hydrogen sulfide:
Is a colorless, volatile odor gas, mainly in the pig house by the decomposition of sulfur. Hydrogen sulfide is produced from the ground, and the proportion of large, so closer to the ground, the greater the concentration. Hydrogen sulfide stimulates the mucous membrane, causing conjunctivitis, rhinitis, bronchitis, and pulmonary edema. Frequent inhalation of low concentrations of hydrogen sulfide can cause autonomic nervous disorders. Free of hydrogen sulfide in the blood, and the oxidation of cytochrome oxidase in the iron binding, so that the enzyme lost activity, so as to affect the process of cell oxidation, resulting in tissue hypoxia. In the environment of low concentration of hydrogen sulfide in the long term, the body mass change is weak and the disease resistance is decreased. High concentrations of hydrogen sulfide can directly inhibit the respiratory center, causing suffocation and death. When the concentration of hydrogen sulfide reaches 0.002%, it will affect the appetite of pigs. The ammonia concentration in pig house should not exceed 0.001%.
